Unless otherwise stated all material on this website is copyright Dales Computer services and permission must be sought before reproducing in part or in full. Please use the contact form to request permission. In order to reproduce material that is under copyright to third parties they must be contacted directly to seek permission.
The website service is provided 'as-is' and any errors or omissions must be accepted as accidental. If you have any issues please feel free to make contact to resolve the situation in an amicable way.
Use of the forum and article comments/feedback is granted to users who regsiter with the site. The forum provides a meeting point where people can ask and answer questions. As this is an open forum users must rely on their own discretion and intelligence when seeking advice. Dales Computer Services accepts no responsibility for third party advice given via the forum. Please keep the tone civil and avoid the use of language or content likely to cause offense. Anybody causing offense will be warned once and the offending material removed. Subsequent problems will be resolved by the user being banned.
Forums rely on the coherence of the conversations. If a user wants to have their registration removed from the site please note that any contribution to the forums or comments will be left in place.
The use of mailing lists is open to registered and non-registered members. See our Privacy Policy to see how your information is used. At all time you can subscribe or unsubscribe from email newsletters by simply visiting the Mailing List page and submitting your email address via the form.
Repairs and upgrades terms and conditions:
1) Repairs, upgrading and servicing of computer harware are performed at your request. All work is undertaken as carefully as possible but phyical damage may be unavoidable, especially where disassembly requires bending, flexing or prying apart (common in laptops). This is particularly true where plastic components are old and have become more brittle. Any risk of such damage will be outlined before work is undertaken but in no cirumstances will Dales Computer Services be held responsible for such damage where the client authorises the action. Also note that upgrading electronics in old computers is not without its risks. If electronic components and power supplies are old and approaching the end of their useful life then adding new components may 'push them over the edge'. Dales Computer Services cannot be responsible for any such issue and note it is not always easy to find replacements for older components (for example motherboards are difficult to obatain more than a couple of years from release as production runs often last only months for new products before manufacturers move on to newer models).
2) All work is carried out in good faith. Any issues remaining after a repair will be addressed but the repair of a computer or software troubleshooting does not entitle a client to further unrelated work free of charge.
3) Dales Computer Services will install software (such as Windows, Microsoft Office, AntiVirus programs etc) upon request but please not we do not install illegal counterfeit software or copies 'from a friend'. Only genuine software (either from genuine original CDs/DVDs or from legitimate downloads) using licenses you have purchased can be installed.
4) Charges will be discussed and agreed with clients before work commences if it is likely to require more than 1 hour to effect a repair. Where possible a fixed esitmate will be given but where this is not possible clients are responsible for paying the standard hourly rate.
Charges:
During normal working hours (Mon - Fri 9am - 6pm) there is a callout charge of £10* and the hourly rate £25 per hour (so there is a mimimum charge of £35 per call).
Outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends) the callout charge is £20* and hourly rate £40 (i.e. a minimum charge of £60 per call).
* At the sole discretion of Dales Computer Services the callout charge may be waived for very local clients or increased for clients who require a long journey.
