Background Information:

Carol's interest in computers began in the mid 1970s at university when a computer filled a room and required puched cards to function. In the early 1980s she worked as a computer programmer in York writing and maintaining programs for clients around York and Selby.

From the mid 80s, Carol worked in a large college of further education installing, running and maintaining large computer systems including two mini-computers (each with 25+ terminals and miles of cable to install), multiple rooms of networked and standalone Windows and Apple Macintosh computers as well as numerous shared peripherals such as printers and scanners and specialist systems in other departments. She also had a teaching commitment of Computer Studies GCSE and A Level courses, BTEC National Diploma courses and adult evening classes and also provided training, support and software troubleshooting for colleagues.

In recent years Carol has worked in small and large primary schools as a teacher and continued in many schools to provide leadership in ICT provision (including maintaining computer hardware and software as well asproblem solving for other teachers and pupils).
